What did you do this past week?

I worked very well with my partner to finish the voting project. Most of the weeks now are pretty much a cycle of doing projects, a couple of hangouts with friends, and my own things like drawing or applying to internships or watching a show.

What’s in your way?

I’ve realized that the projects so far should not be taking as long as they should with all the extra peripherals, but I can see it being very useful in a professional environment to maintain a high standard of product and development.

What will you do next week?

I will probably try to limit my sleep and not nap throughout the day to finish my project in my other class. Otherwise, I hope I’ll be able to find time for at least one break day where I can go hiking somewhere because the weather is getting very pleasant.

If you read it, what did you think of Why Is Silicon Valley So Awful to Women?

I’ve read and listened I think quite a number of feminist experiences and papers or at least above average for a guy? I very much agreed with the paper’s idea that there have been so many that most feminist papers now begin with the idea that writing as such has become too well-worn and repetitive; there is much talking about it, and while there have been efforts made, not enough has been done to publish a success paper. Over the summer a lot of personalities I followed were canceled for behavior similar to the stories told in the paper, and it was quite a reality check.

What was your experience of arrays, equal(), and iterators? (this question will vary, week to week)

I thought the curriculum was pretty standard and probably useful in the near future. I believe that knowing all the smaller nuances of C++ will be useful, but I haven’t encountered anything relevant yet (other than the upcoming exam).

What made you happy this week?

I drew a pretty nice picture and was happy with my progress. I made really good sweet Korean ground beef with pickled cabbage, an over-easy egg, and curry rice.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

While I’ve heard that others mash out the Hackerrank first on projects, my partner and I found that setting up everything before the Hackkerrank made creating all the tests, the make file, and other peripherals much easier.
